Dal 21 di settembre al 3 di ottobre si è svolto l’annuale esercitazione denominata NATO Tiger Meet (NTM).
Il NTM è un’esercitazione multinazionale che riunisce personale di diverse nazioni con lo scopo di raffinare le operazioni tattiche in più ambiti e rafforzare la loro interoperabilità, ma soprattutto riunire tutti i reparti che hanno come emblema la tigre o assimilati (Leone – Pantera – Giaguaro – Lince).
La storica esercitazione è stata organizzata dalla Forza Aerea portoghese (Força Aérea Portuguesa) sulla Base Aerea n° 11 di Beja, pur non essendo la base aerea che ospita l’Esquadra 301 Jaguares, dislocato a Monte Real, è stata scelta per le sue caratteristiche adatte ad ospitare un così alto numero di velivoli e di personale.
Dalla sua prima edizione del 1961, il Portogallo è la quinta volta che ospita il Tiger Meet (1987 Montijo – 1996 / 2002 / 2021 Beja). A Beja sono stati impegnati oltre 1.700 militari di 12 nazioni diverse, la presenza più importante era ovviamente dei militari portoghesi, a cui si sono aggiunti militari provenienti da: Austria, Repubblica Ceca, Francia, Germania, Grecia, Italia, Polonia, Spagna, Svizzera, Turchia e Regno Unito, in questa edizione non hanno partecipato velivoli belgi, olandesi, ungheresi e dell’Armée de l’Air.
I velivoli partecipanti sono stati 59 fast jet e 16 elicotteri, più velivoli di supporto per il rifornimento in volo, gli AWACS e Comando e Controllo (C2).
Una novità dell’esercitazione appena terminata è stato l’utilizzo di immagini satellitari ad altissima risoluzione rese disponibili in quasi in tempo reale come supporto delle operazioni.
Come da tradizione, alla fine dell’esercitazione sono stati assegnati i seguenti riconoscimenti:
Silver Tiger – Staffel 11 (Svizzera)
Best OPS – TLG51 (Germania)
Best Tiger Aircraft – Esquadra 301 (Portogallo)
Best Uniform – 6 ELT (Polonia)
Tiger Games – 2.Staffel (Austria)
Best Skit – 12° Gruppo (Italia)

From 21 September to 3 October, the annual NATO Tiger Meet (NTM) exercise took place.
The NTM is a multinational exercise that brings together personnel from different countries with the aim of refining tactical operations in multiple areas and strengthening their interoperability, but above all, bringing together all units that have the tiger or similar animals (lion, panther, jaguar, lynx) as their emblem.
The historic exercise was organised by the Portuguese Air Force (Força Aérea Portuguesa) at Air Base No. 11 in Beja. Although this is not the air base that hosts the Esquadra 301 Jaguares, which is located in Monte Real, it was chosen for its suitability to accommodate such a large number of aircraft and personnel.
Since its first edition in 1961, Portugal has hosted the Tiger Meet five times (1987 Montijo – 1996 / 2002 / 2021 Beja). More than 1,700 military personnel from 12 different countries were involved in Beja, with the most significant presence obviously being the Portuguese military, joined by military personnel from Austria, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey and the United Kingdom. No aircraft from Belgium, the Netherlands, Hungary or the Armée de l'Air took part in this edition.
The participating aircraft included 59 fast jets and 16 helicopters, plus support aircraft for in-flight refuelling, AWACS and Command and Control (C2).
A new feature of the recently completed exercise was the use of very high-resolution satellite images made available in near real time to support operations.
