MAKS, (dal russo МАКС, (Международный авиационно-космический салон), Salone Internazionale per l'Aviazione e lo Spazio è un Air Show Internazionale che si tiene nei pressi di Mosca, Russia sull’aeroporto di Zhukovsky.
L’aeroporto Ramenskoye (Russo: Аэропорт Раменское) (ICAO: UUBW), noto anche come Zhukovsky Airfield, è un aeroporto dell’Oblast di Mosca (nelle ex repubbliche sovietiche, le oblast sono le entità direttamente sottostanti allo stato, l'equivalente delle regioni italiane), situato a 40 km a sud est della capitale nei pressi della città di Ramenskoye.
Serve come un importante impianto di prova velivoli fin dagli anni della Guerra Fredda ed è sede della maggior parte delle principali OKB russe. Una OKB, (in russo: Опытное конструкторское бюро, Opytnoe konstructorskoe bjuro, Ufficio di Progettazione Sperimentale) era un'istituzione "chiusa" composta da un gruppo di ingegneri che lavoravano alla progettazione e alla creazione di prototipi nel campo della tecnologia avanzata, applicata in particolare in campo militare.
Inoltre è ora utilizzato dal Ministero delle Situazioni di emergenza e di trasporto merci. Questo aeroporto è stato utilizzato anche come un sito di prova per la navicella spaziale sovietica Buran.
Una curiosità su Ramenskoye Airport è che dispone della seconda pista più lunga del mondo, 17.726 piedi (5.403 m).
Il primo Air Show, Mosaeroshow-92, si tenne nel 1992. Dal 1993 fu rinominato col nome attuale e si tiene negli anni dispari.
Il MAKS è un evento importante per il mondo degli affari russo. Anche se iniziò principalmente come un evento di intrattenimento, lo spettacolo divenne ben presto un mercato dove i produttori russi avrebbero trovato contratti di esportazione e perfezionato i contatti stranieri. L'intero evento è diventato importante per gli stati della CSI e nei paesi limitrofi, a causa delle somiglianze del mercato.
Il più recente (MAKS-2011) ha avuto luogo dal 16 al 21 Agosto 2011.
Quest'anno la partecipazione alla manifestazione ha raggiunto un livello record, con 842 aziende provenienti da 40 paesi.
241 velivoli sono stati presentati, e 91 fra aerei ed elicotteri hanno preso parte al programma di volo.
Si tratta di una cifra davvero impressionante, dimostrando che l'interesse per lo show di Mosca è in costante crescita.
Secondo gli organizzatori, 100.000 fra specialisti, espositori ed ospiti hanno visitato la mostra durante i primi tre giorni che sono stati aperti solo per gli addetti ai lavori.
Gli ultimi tre giorni (venerdì, sabato e domenica) sono stati aperti al pubblico, un'ottima occasione per le centinaia di migliaia di persone per dare uno sguardo da vicino all'affascinante mondo dell'aviazione. Come detto dal Primo Ministro della Federazione Russa Vladimir Putin, durante il discorso fatto in occasione della sua visita alla mostra "questo può essere particolarmente interessante per le giovani generazioni, perché è qui che molti di loro scoprono i loro sogni".
Nonostante il maltempo che ha colpito la regione di Mosca durante il fine settimana, circa 55.000 persone hanno visitato la mostra l'ultimo giorno, portando il totale per il 2011 ad un numero di visitatori pari a 440.000.
Lo show di quest’anno ha esibito i moderni aerei polivalenti Su 35, Mig 35, Su 30MK2, così come la novità del settore russo degli aeromobili civili, il Sukhoy Superjet 100. Per la prima volta il caccia russo della quinta generazione PAK FA (Su 50) ha preso parte al programma di volo.
Inoltre Russian Helicopters JSC ha dimostrato la propria vasta gamma di elicotteri civili e militari.
Al parcheggio statico l'Air Force russa era presente con l'intera gamma di aerei militari ed elicotteri: Tu 160, A 50, Tu 95, Su 27SM, Mig 29SMT, Su 24M, Su 25SM, Su 34, Mig 31B, Yak 130, elicotteri Ka 52, Mil Mi 26, Mil Mi 8MTV-5, Mil Mi 28.
Senza dubbio l’attrazione centrale del MAKS-2011 è stata la presentazione del più grande aereo passeggeri А 380 fatta da Airbus. Boeing ha portato a Mosca il 787 per la prima volta.
L’Antonov An 158 è invece stato il nuovo arrivato più interessante dall’industria ucraina.
Quest'anno, dopo quatro anni di pausa, velivoli dell’USAF hanno nuovamente preso parte al salone. Per la prima volta era presente un C 5А Galaxy, aereo da trasporto militare, aerei d'attacco A 10 Thunderbolt II, un P 3 Orion della Navy, sono stati presentati alla mostra statica. I visitatori del salone hanno avuto inoltre l'opportunità di vedere da vicino un tanker KC 10A, caccia F 16 e F 15 ed il possente В 52, bombardiere che solo qualche anno fa avrebbe potuto sollevare più di qualche preoccupazione solo avvicinandosi allo spazio aereo russo.
Un caccia Strike Eagle F 15E tutti i giorni ha effettuato un imponente programma di volo di 15 minuti.
Prestazioni altamente spettacolari delle pattuglie acrobatiche dei "Russian Knights", "Strizhi", "Russian Falcons" e "Rus" hanno completato lo spettacolo. |

MAKS, (from Russian МАКС), International Aviation and Space Salon is an International Air Show held near Moscow, Russia on Zhukovsky airfield.
Ramenskoye Airport (ICAO: UUBW), also known as Zhukovsky Airfield, is an airport in Moscow Oblast, Russia located 40 km southeast of Moscow and near the town of Ramenskoye. It serves as a major aircraft testing facility since the Cold War years with the majority of the major Russian OKBs having facilities on the airfield. It is also now used by the Ministry of Emergency Situations and cargo transportation. This airfield was also used as a test site for the Soviet Buran Spacecraft.
A curiosity about Ramenskoye Airport is that it boasts the world's second longest public-use runway, at 17,726 ft (5,403 m).
The first show, Mosaeroshow-92, was held in 1992. Since 1993, it was renamed to its current name and is held on odd years.
MAKS is an important event in Russian business. Although it started mainly as an entertainment event, the show soon became a marketplace where Russian airplane manufacturers could find export contracts and Russian air carriers could find foreign contacts. The whole event became important through CIS and neighboring countries, due to similarities of the market.
The most recent (MAKS-2011) took place from 16th to 21st August 2011.
This year the attendance at the show has reached a record high, with 842 companies from 40 countries.
241 aircraft was presented, 91 aircraft and helicopter took part in the flying program.
This is a very impressive figure, one that demonstrates that interest in the Moscow show is constantly growing.
According to organizers, 100.000 specialists, exhibitors and guests had visited the exhibition during the first three days which were open only for trading.
The last three (Friday Saturday and Sunday) were public days, an excellent opportunity for the hundreds of thousands of people to get a closer look to the fascinating world of aviation. As said by Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, during a speech made in occasion of his visit to the show “this can be particularly interesting for the younger generation, because it is here that many of them discover their dreams”.
Despite of the bad weather that hit Moscow region on the weekend, some 55,000 people visited the show on its last day, bringing the total 2011 number of visitors at 440.000.
The exhibits included Russian modern multipurpose fighters Su 35, Mig 35, Su 30MK2, as well as the novelty of the Russian civil aircraft industry, the Sukoy Superjet-100 aircraft. For the first time Russian PAK FA fighter of the Fifth generation has taken part to the flight program.
Also, Russian Helicopters JSC demonstrated their wide range of military and civil helicopters.
At the static parking area the Russian Air Force was present with the full range of military airplanes and helicopters: Tu 160, A 50, Tu 95, Su 27SM, Mig 29SMT, Su 24M, Su 25SM, Su 34, Mig 31B, Yak 130, helicopters Ka 52, Mil Mi 26, Mil Mi 8MTV-5, Mil Mi 28.
No doubt that the main premiere of MAKS-2011 will be the biggest passenger airplane А 380 made by Airbus. Boeing has brought to Moscow a 787 for the first time. Antonov An 158 airplane was the most exiting Ukrainian newcomer.
This year, after a 4-year break, US Air Force airplanes had taken part in the Salon. For the first time C 5А Galaxy military transport airplane, А 10 Thunderbolt II attack planes and P 3 reconnaissance plane were presented at the static parking area. The Salon’s visitors had the opportunity of seeing at close quarters a KC 10A tanker, F 16 and F 15 fighters as well the mighty В 52H bomber which only a few years back could have raised some concerns overflying the Russian airspace and landing on Russian soil. F 15 Strike Eagle multipurpose fighter has performed every day of the show an impressive 15 minute long program.
Highly spectacular performances of "Russian Knights", "Strizhi", "Russian Falcons" and "Rus" aerobatic teams have completed the show.
