Il Governo bulgaro da poco insediato, ed il Ministero della Difesa, hanno organizzato nella giornata di sabato 11 ottobre un Air Show per mettere in evidenza le capacità della Forza Aerea in tutte le sue componenti, Polizia Aerea, Attacco al Suolo, Combat SAR (Search and Rescue), Soccorso e Ricerca, Antincendio, Supporto alle Forze Speciali. L’occasione dell’evento è stato anche quello di festeggiare i 102 anni di attività della Bulgarski Voenno Vzdushni Sili (Forza Aerea bulgara).
La location prescelta per l’evento è stato l’aeroporto Internazionale di Sofia (Letishte Sofia), posto a circa 10 km circa dalla capitale.
Secondo il Generale Radev, Comandante della Forza Aerea bulgara, l’obbiettivo della dimostrazione è stato quello di far avvicinare la popolazione alla Forza Aerea e di incentivare i giovani ad entrare nelle Forze Armate, teniamo conto che erano più di vent’anni che non veniva organizzato nulla di simile nella capitale bulgara.
Come per ogni manifestazione aerea degna di questo nome il giorno antecedente (venerdì 10) è stato possibile assistere alle prove generali. Tutti i velivoli che si sono esibiti in volo erano schierati in una zona dell’aeroporto civile, quattro Mig 29A/UB, tre Mig 2bis, tre Su 25K/UBK, tre L 39ZA, due Pc 9, due C 27J oltre ad elicotteri Bell 206B-3, AS532UL e Mil Mi 17.
Nella zona militare dell’aeroporto è stata invece allestita una mostra statica dove, oltre ad una rappresentanza degli stessi velivoli sopra menzionati, erano presenti anche: An 2, Let 410, An 26, An 30 ed una serie di mezzi terrestri come i lanciatori di missili Neva, Volonov C200 e C300 nonché radar i VT-1 e Venus montati su autocarro.
L’attività di volo è iniziata ad appannaggio degli elicotteri, con dimostrazione di spegnimento di incendio con un Mi 17 dotato di “Bambi Bucket”, a seguire sbarco da un Super Puma delle Forze Speciali con sistema “Fast Rope” e conseguente “esfiltrazione”, per finire passaggi in formazione con Bell 206, AS532UL e Mi 17.
Dopo gli elicotteri è toccato ad una coppia di C 27J Spartan a focalizzare l’attenzione dei fotografi e del pubblico, oltre al lancio di paracadutisti hanno effettuato dei passaggi con una formazione veramente serrata e a dir poco spettacolare…. e non è potuta mancare la classica esibizione acrobatica a cui ormai ci ha abituati il “nostro” Spartan.
Dopo l’esibizione del C 27J è toccato al Pilatus Pc 9 ed ai primi aviogetti L 39ZA Albatros, a seguire è iniziato il momento dei fast jets con due Mig 21 che, sebbene non più giovanissimi, danno sempre una certa emozione, due Su 25 hanno effettuato un’attività di Close Air Support mentre i “Fishbed” controllavano il cielo campo.
Dopo l’anziano Mig 21, è stato il momento di vedere all’opera due Mig 29, un monoposto ed un biposto hanno dato vita ad un dogfight senza risparmio di postbruciatore, successivamente tutti i jet si sono ripresentati in formazione sul campo per effettuare un sorvolo di commiato, la chiusura dell’Air Show è spettata ad un assolo di un Mig 29A con ai comandi il Gen. Radev, che con un decollo mozzafiato ha spinto il velivolo al limite in tutte le sue evoluzioni, dimostrando di avere una grande abilità ed esperienza sul possente “Fulcrum”.
Fonti ufficiali riportano una presenza di circa 50.000 spettatori durante la giornata della manifestazione, un risultato sicuramente gratificante per l’organizzazione, ma il plauso maggiore è rivolto all’encomiabile idea di raccogliere consensi mettendosi in gioco e qualificandosi per il lavoro che le Forze Armate svolgono quotidianamente. |

The newly established Bulgarian government, and the Ministry of Defense, organized on Saturday 11 October an Air Show to highlight the capabilities of the Air Force in all its components, Air Police, Attack on the Ground, Combat-SAR (Search and Rescue), Search and Rescue, Fire Fighting, Special Forces Support. The occasion of the event was also to celebrate the 102 years of activity of the Bulgarski Voenno Vzdushni Sili (Bulgarian Air Force).
The chosen location for the event was Sofia International Airport (Letishte Sofia), located about 10 km from the capital.
According to General Radev, Commander of the Bulgarian Air Force, the objective of the demonstration was to bring the population closer to the Air Force and to encourage young people to join the Armed Forces, We take into account that it was more than twenty years that nothing similar was organized in the Bulgarian capital.
As for any air event worthy of the name the day before (Friday 10) it was possible to attend the general tests. All aircraft that performed in flight were deployed in one area of the civil airport, four Mig 29A/UB, three Mig 2bis, three Su 25K/UBK, three L 39ZA, two Pc 9, two C 27J as well as Bell 206B-3, AS532UL and Mil Mi 17 helicopters.
In the military area of the airport was instead set up a static exhibition where, in addition to a representation of the same aircraft mentioned above, were also present: An 2, Let 410, An 26, An 30 and a series of land vehicles such as missile launchers Neva, Volonov C200 and C300 as well as radar VT-1 and Venus mounted on truck.

Official sources report a presence of about 50,000 spectators during the day of the event, a result certainly rewarding for the organization, but the highest praise is for the commendable idea of gathering consensus by putting yourself in the game and qualifying for the work that the Armed Forces carry out daily.
